I’m a recently retired professor who formerly taught in the English Department at the University of Nebraska. My areas of teaching and research focused on ecocriticism, bioregionalism, settler colonial studies, and Loren Eiseley. The places whose literature I am researching include the US West and the Australian Outback. For seven years I served as editor of the journal Western American Literature. I have a new book, Outback and Out West: The Settler-Colonial Environmental Imaginary, that I will be extensively promoting on this site.
